Ripple’s (CTO), has openly criticized a well-known AI-powered platform for its inappropriate phrasing when discussing victims of Bitcoin scams. Schwartz argues that the issue is not a simple typo, asserting that AI systems are trained to avoid such errors. This incident adds to Schwartz’s ongoing critiques of AI in similar contexts.
Schwartz Raises Concerns Over AI-Generated Content
Schwartz, also known as Joel Katz on the X social media network, shared multiple screenshots from the popular Q&A site Quora. His concern focused on how AI formulates questions, particularly one asking: “Can individuals who have been scammed on Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies be tracked down and be prosecuted for their crimes?”

Schwartz found this wording offensive, suggesting it wrongly implies the victims committed crimes. When one of his followers suggested it might be a typo, Schwartz disagreed. He emphasized that the AI-generated content made it unlikely to be a simple mistake. “I don’t think AIs make typos,” Schwartz responded.
Ongoing Criticism of AI and Quora
This isn’t the first time Schwartz has raised issues with AI’s role in content creation. Throughout this year, he has used the X platform multiple times to call out Quora’s reliance on AI to formulate questions, expressing frustration over the quality and clarity of the content produced.
Despite his criticism of AI, Schwartz has recently acknowledged one of Elon Musk’s projects. While Schwartz has been vocal in his criticism of Tesla and other products from Musk’s companies, he praised the Starlink satellite internet system.

Schwartz shared a tweet showing a Starlink dish in his car, explaining that it allowed him to join a Zoom call in an area without cell service.
He described Starlink, a product of Musk’s SpaceX, as an “astonishing success,” contrasting it with his negative views on Tesla and Musk’s unfulfilled promises regarding electric cars.
